Laura has been a Vision Therapist here at VEO for over 15 years, and she has always felt this has been the most rewarding job she has ever had. She says “It’s a joy to help people improve their lives.” Laura had her own visual issues that were corrected here through vision therapy, and it changed her life. Now she is very passionate about helping others. She has a bachelor’s degree from Friends University, and she graduated with highest honors. Laura is very experienced and trains all of our residents, externs and new therapists. She specializes in helping people who have had traumatic brain injuries.
She and her husband Roy have three daughters, and five grandchildren. They also have a three-legged dog named Liberty, and two cats; Elsie and Tashie. All three of them are rescues from the animal shelter, and they are very sweet-natured.
For fun, Laura loves reading, gardening and doing crafts. She and her husband love to go on weekend road trips, especially to unusual, out of the way places. She loves to collect rocks from everywhere they travel, and the paths in her garden are lined with them.
